Kung Fu Cutter

I named the prototype for the 4.8 Kung Fu Cutter. I will post pictures of the build and the projects I am working on from time to time. CNC Router Parts LLC will post the plans and complete BOM for the 4.0 in their plans page soon.

Cut 2 Super Strut to 100 in

Lay out 2 Super Strut and cut to 108 in

Measuring Strut

Clamp Super Srut and cut tougether

Lay out and cut 3 Super Strut to 52 in

Tools for cutting Super Strut. I found during this build that the best results were with a hand saw.

To cut the Super Strut I used this portable band saw. It quick, nice cut but I found it hard to make a square cut. I found it much easier to mark out a square cut and use a hand saw. Ametal cutoff saw would be a good option.

These are the tools I used for the majority of the build. A plastic / rubber hammer to help persuade things into position.

A hand saw for cutting metal and carpenters clamps to secure the work.

Important! Always protect your self. These tasks involve hazards and measures must be taken. Safety Glasses, Hearing protection, Gloves, Ventilation, and a friend ( or 2 or 3) to help move things. After assembly begins the table gets very heavy.

I used the angle grinder with the cut off wheel seen here and a 40 grit flap disk to shorten bolts, and  make and dress cuts. I have found that flap discs are better than grinding wheels.

A 12 in chop saw with aluminum cutting blade. I used this to cut the 8020 to exact lengths.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               I strongly recommend ordering the 8020 to exact lengths. The cut fee is very reasonable and if there is an error it is their responsibility.
